Tendulkar,Gilchrist fined for slow over rates

Sachin Tendulkar and Adam Gilchrist were slapped a fine of USD 20,000 each for slow over rate.

Mumbai Indians captain Sachin Tendulkar and his Deccan Chargers counterpart Adam Gilchrist were slapped a fine of USD 20,000 each for slow over rate in the Indian Premier League match.

8220;A decision in this regard was taken by match referee Devdas Govindjee from South Africa,8221; the IPL authorities said in a statement.

Deccan Chargers defeated Mumbai Indians by 12 runs yesterday.

The Delhi Daredevils were also penalised for a similar slow over rate in their April 23 match against Chennai Super Kings at the same venue.
