Muniyappa defends title

C Muniyappa shot an 11-under 61 to successfully defend the BT Honda Pro-Am of Champions title at the Classic Golf Resort on Sunday. The reigning Indian Open champion won by two strokes with a two-day total of 17-under 127. Delhi Golf Clubs Ashok Kumar had to be content with a second-place finish despite a round of nine-under 63 that gave him a tournament total of 15-under 129. The experienced Mukesh Kumar finished one shot behind Ashok in third place,while Anirban Lahiri shot up to fourth on the leaderboard with a round of 10-under 62.

Iniesta out of Arsenal match

Barcelona will be without midfielder Andres Iniesta for its Champions League quarter-final match against Arsenal after the Spain international was diagnosed with a leg injury. Medical scans Sunday confirmed Iniesta sustained a muscle injury in his right leg during Saturdays 1-0 Spanish league win at Mallorca. Iiesta,who came off after 51 minutes,will miss Wednesday8217;s first leg in north London and is doubtful for the return match at the Camp Nou on April 6 as he is expected to be out 10 days. Iniesta has featured in all of Barcelonas European matches this season and 27 league games.

Roma beat Inter to close gap

Luca Toni scored a 72nd-minute winner as AS Roma beat Inter Milan 2-1 to move within one point of the Serie A leaders with seven rounds remaining. On Sunday,Juventus ended a four-game winless streak with a 2-1 victory over Atalanta in Serie A to remain in the hunt for fourth place and the final Champions League berth.
