Defending champions Chelsea trumped Stoke City 2-0 at Stamford Bridge to reach their fourth FA Cup semi-finals in the last five years. Frank Lampard opened the scoring for Chelsea in the 35th minute,while captain John Terry sealed the victory for the home side with a header in the67th minute. Meanwhile,Aston Villa drubbed Reading 4-2 to also book their semis berth. Trailing 2-0 at half-time,Villa turned the tide mainly due to a John Carews hat-trick.

Scholess 100th takes United on top

Paul Scholes scored his 100th Premier League goal as reigning champions Manchester United returned to the top of the table with a 1-0 win at gritty strugglers Wolves. After the win,United are on 63 points with nine games remaining,while Chelsea are on 61 with a game in hand. Earlier,Arsenal maintained their title push 61 points from 29 games with a 3-1 win at home to Burnley.

Gangjee finishes tied 10th

Rahil Gangjee signed off on a birdie-birdie note to finish inside the top 10,while two-time winner Arjun Atwal came tied 28th after a final round of three-under 69 in the Malaysian Open on Sunday. Gangjee8217;s one-under 71 took his final aggregate to eight-under 280 as he joined three others in the 10th place. Korean teen Noh Seung-yul secured a dramatic one-stroke victory over K J Choi after pulling off an audacious final-hole birdie.

Gayle,Deonarine help Windies level series

Chris Gayle and Narsingh Deonarine hit half-centuries as West Indies beat Zimbabwe by four wickets in the second one-day international. Zimbabwe failed to successfully defend a target score of 207 on Saturday,as Gayle collected the top score of 88 from 111balls and Deonarine supported with 65 from 85 balls. The result brought West Indies level 1-1 in the five-match series.
