Somdev Devvarman qualifies for French Open main draw

Somdev Devvarman defeated eight seed Wayne Odesnik to qualify for the French Open.

India8217;s Somdev Devvarman qualified for the main draw of the men8217;s singles event at the French Open here today.

Somdev defeated eight seed Wayne Odesnik of the United States 6-3 6-4 in the third and final qualifying round at the Rolland Garros.

Somdev will now take on Spaniard Daniel Munoz-De La Nava in the first round of the main draw.

Somdev had earlier defeated Italian Matteo Viola 6-4 1-6 6-4 in his first qualifying round before prevailing over Quentin Halys of France 7-6 6-3 in the next round.
