Sachin Tendulkar: Time Machine

Sachin Tendulkar says he is bowled over by True Religion,Armani and Audemars Piguet.

Master batsman and self-acclaimed watch freak Sachin Tendulkar launched the Swiss watch company Audemars Piguets latest collection over the weekend at the Taj Mahal Hotel in Delhi. I have goals on the field and I have dreams off-field. An association with a brand like this was one such dream, he said to the assembled crowd.

Piguet, one of the most exclusive brands among luxury watches, will be opening two boutiques in Delhi and Mumbai in India over the next six months, under the dealership of Kapoor and Kapoor Watch Company. With Sachin Tendulkar as the brand ambassador, the brand plans to release in the market six limited edition watches. Only 300 pieces will be sold in retail, with prices ranging from Rs 72 lakh to Rs 2 crore.

At the launch, the usually self-effacing Tendulkar talked about his penchant for watches, and his love of designer clothes. I got my first watch when I was five years old,and since then,Ive been a complete watch freak. Im not particularly brand-conscious though when it comes to fashion. I like to be comfortably dressed, but I think I am a little partial towards

Armani and True Religion denims, he revealed.

We are very honoured to have him as our brand ambassador, said Oliviero Bottinellli, the Managing Director of Audemars Piguet,at the launch. For the Swiss, cricket means Sachin Tendulkar,so we couldnt have asked for a better representative.

Tendulkar, who has been having a particularly great year on the cricketing field, also said that he is far from done. I dont get on to the field with a to-do list. When I play,I play for the nation. The rest follows. Every achievement is like a station in my career. My best is yet to come, he said. Deepika Nath
