Indian Ambassador to the US,Ronen Sen met influential American Senator John Cornyn in Washington to discuss the two countries8217; 8220;shared fight8221; against terrorism.
8220;At the top of our agenda was the recent horrific terrorist attacks on the Indian city of Mumbai and our nations8217; shared fight against radical extremists,8221; Senator Cornyn,who is also the co-founder of the Senate India Caucus,said in a statement after the meeting on Wednesday.
Cornyn offered condolences for the people who were killed in Mumbai attack. 8220;We discussed our mutual commitment to confronting the very real threat of terrorism and ways in which we might protect innocent lives from being taken in the future as a result of radical Jihadists,8221; the Senator said.
During the meeting,Senator Cornyn reaffirmed his strong support for India and the critical importance of a strong friendship between the two countries.
Senator Cornyn serves on the Armed Services,Judiciary and Budget Committees of the US Senate. He serves as the top Republican on the Judiciary Committee8217;s Immigration,Refugees and Border Security subcommittee and the Armed Services Committee8217;s Airland subcommittee.
