Sri Lankan selectors named fast bowler Dhammika Prasad on Wednesday as replacement for injured Dilhara Fernando for the five-match ODI series against England.
The 28-year-old pacer, who has played six Tests and five One-day Internationals since making his debut in 2006,returns to the One-day squad for the first time since 2008.
Fernando, who had a disappointing run in the Test series that ended with a 1-0 result in favour of England, became the second Sri Lankan fast bowler to return home mid-way through the tour.
Nuwan Pradeep, widely regarded as the successor to Lasith Malinga with a similar slinging action, was earlier forced to return home at the end of the second first-class game against England Lions ahead of the first Test at Cardiff, after he picked an injury.
