Ratnakar Shetty, former vice-president of the Mumbai Cricket Association, has filed a civil law suit against the five-year ban the MCA had imposed on him a few weeks ago. Shetty was banned after he had alleged that office bearers of the MCA may have indulged in the black market sale of tickets for the India-Pakistan T20 game that was played in Ahmedabad in December last year.

8220;I have filed a suit challenging my five year ban. My lawyer had earlier given the association 48 hours to revoke the ban,but there was no reply and I decided to go ahead with the law suit. It was an unfair decision and a personal vendetta by people who do not want me to contest in the next elections,8221; Shetty told The Indian Express.

According to a top MCA official, the association is not about to change its decision. 8220;The MCA managing committee took a unanimously decision to ban Shetty for five years. He can challenge the decision in a court of law,but we will not lift the ban,8221; the MCA source said.
