Charlie Sheen is about to star in another TV show roughly one year after he was fired from an immensely popular role on Two and a Half Men. The new series,Anger Management,loosely adapted from the 2003 movie with Adam Sandler and Jack Nicholson,casts Sheen as a once-promising baseball player who,in a tantrum,tried to break a bat over his leg and instead broke his knee,forcing him out of the game. And then works as a therapist,counselling a misfit group of patients . Sheen said it was important to him that the series have a theme of atonement. The Goodson character let a lot of people down, he said. A lot of people were rooting for him,and he ended his career with his own anger.Sheen was confident his fans had forgiven him not only for his meltdown but also for the threats of violence he had made against ex wives Brooke Mueller and Denise Richards.

After toying with titles like The Bop Decameron and Nero Fiddled,Allen changed the films name to one that reflected not only his affection for Italy but also for that countrys proud tradition of cinema and maverick filmmakers who inspired him to make personal movies of his own. As a teenager in New York,Allen,now 76,said in an interview,my group was hardly an intellectual groupit was a group of mugs. But he added: Italian movies were a great staple of our cultural diet. They were a tremendous influence in terms of showing us that one could make movies about mature subjects with profound themes.
