Former Australian opener Justin Langer was on Monday appointed the national teams batting coach for the upcoming cricket season. Cricket Australia today announced that Justin Langer will support the coaching of the Test team this summer, CA said in a statement. Langer will also help Tim Nielsens coaching team in a mentoring capacity.
Justin Langer will join the Australian Test squad and provide specialist skills in assisting the batters prepare for Test match cricket. Hell also develop plans to assist players cope with the rigours of the Test match game, CAs General Manager (Cricket) Michael Brown said.
Langer played 105 Test matches and retired from Test cricket in January 2007. He recently retired from first-class cricket with Somerset.
