Jacques Kallis hit a rapid half-century in the Twenty20 international played for his charity as South Africa racked up 219-4 against India in their one-off match at Wanderers on Friday. Kallis made 61 from 42 balls,with five fours and two sixes,before he was caught on the midwicket boundary by Rohit Sharma off spinner Ravichandran Ashwin.

Kallis shared a 119-run partnership with Colin Ingram,who made a T20 career-best 78 from 49 to help take the Proteas to their second highest 20-over score. India used eight bowlers but couldnt control the damaging second-wicket partnership between Kallis and Ingram after Richard Levi was out in the second over for 19.

Kallis and Ingram reached 50 within a ball of each other,with Kallis carving three straight fours through the offside as he recorded his fifth T20 half-century. Their prolific stand ended in the 15th over as Kallis went for another maximum over midwicket.
