Terming the terrorist attack on Sri Lankan cricket team as ‘unfortunate’,Indian batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar said he always felt safe when it comes to playing at home.

Expressing sorrow at the incident that left a number of Sri Lanka players injured,Tendulkar said,”More or less all of them are good friends. It’s very sad what has happened.”

“But I’ll always feel safe in my homeland,” he was quoted as saying by ‘The Dominion Post’.

Seven Sri Lankan players and an assistant coach were injured,while eight person,including six policemen died on Tuesday when 12 masked gunmen opened fire at the team convoy while it was heading towards the Gaddafi stadium for the third day’s play in the second Test.

The attack has placed future tours to Pakistan in doubt.
