Blast at Beijing International Airport,man in wheelchair injured

A man in wheelchair set off the bomb at the Beijing airport.

A man in a wheelchair was injured when he set off an explosion at the Beijing International Airport today. The explosion was heard in Terminal 3 of the airport at 6:24 pm (local time),witnesses said. State-run CCTV said the man injured in the last was 34-year-old Ji Zhongxing from Heze in Shandong Province. He set off a home-made explosive device packed with gunpowder from fireworks. There were no other casualties. CCTV did not give details on the man’s condition or a possible motive for his action. Photos posted by several witnesses on micro-blogging site

Weibo,the Chinese equivalent of Twitter,showed the man in the wheelchair waving his arms and holding up a white object before the blast. Another photo showed several security and cleaning staff attending to a person beside an overturned wheelchair. Local media reported that the man was rushed to hospital. Officials said order had been restored after the incident.
