Bengal eye first title in 10 years

An upbeat Bengal will be looking to end their 10-year title drought when they face former champions Goa in the final of the Santosh Trophy.

An upbeat Bengal will be looking to end their 10-year title drought when they face former champions Goa in the final of the Santosh Trophy on Sunday.

Bengal have never lost a final against Goa in the Santosh Trophy and have been winners in all their five meetings so far. The 29-time champions won their last title at the same venue 10 years back. Bengal coach Raghu Nandy,though,was worried about the lack of fitness of captain and defender Habibur Rehman Mondal.

For Goa,strikers Joaquim Abranches,Branco Cardozo and Freddy Mascarenhas are on the injury list.
