CHANDIGARH, Sept 1: A literary contest opened today at the Bal Bhawan in Sector 23. The inter-school two-day event called Panaroma 99 is being organised by Les Amis, meaning quot;The Friendsquot; in French.

According to Jyotsana Kapoor, the president of Les Amis, a total of 11 schools are participating in the event.

The preliminary rounds of various events held today included a debate competition on quot;Human Cloningquot; and a quiz contest. The results of the various events that concluded today were: Sell-Well-Buy-Well contest: Pranav of Vivek High School and Amrita of Carmel Convent were adjudged the bestsellers; Ashish of Vivek High School and Neha of Shivalik Public School bagged the second place; Ashish of Vivek High School and Akansha of Sacred Heart School stood third.

Wordsworth contest: Amreen, Jasmine and Chandara of Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 35, were adjudged the winners; Qayanat, Arushi and Gyan Anjan of Carmel Convent were the first runners-up; Amandeep, Kenny and Varun of St Stephens8217; the second runners-up.
