Prachanda asks Maoists not to disrupt new process

In the wake of fresh attempts by some Maoists to obstruct restoration of displaced police posts, rebel leader Prachanda has asked his party cadres to halt all activities relating to their parallel 8216;government8217; and 8216;courts8217; and help create a conducive atmosphere for polls.

In the wake of fresh attempts by some Maoists to obstruct restoration of displaced police posts, rebel leader Prachanda has asked his party cadres to halt all activities relating to their parallel 8216;government8217; and 8216;courts8217; and help create a conducive atmosphere for polls.

The Maoist leader had yesterday announced the dissolution of all 8220;people8217;s government8221; and 8220;people8217;s courts8221; operated by party cadres at district and village levels.

With the promulgation of the Interim constitution and formation of the Interim Legislature, the 8220;people8217;s government8221; and the 8220;people8217;s courts8221; are now dissolved as per the agreement reached on November 8, Prachanda said in the statement.

His statement came after attempts by some Maoist cadres to obstruct restoration of the displaced police posts in Sindhupalchowk district.
