NEW DELHI, JANUARY 30: Chief Election Commissioner M S Gill will undertake a two-day visit to Bihar on February one to review the overall situation relating to poll preparation in the state which is going to a three-phased assembly poll next month.
Commission sources said that Gill will visit Ranchi on February one to review the poll preparations in areas covered in the first phase, particularly in south Bihar, which had witnessed largescale extremist activities including landmine blasts during the last Lok Sabha elections.
The CEC is expected to visit Patna the following day to review the poll arrangements in those areas going to the polls in the second and third phase of polling, the sources said. The commission has already taken a number of steps on the mobilisation of adequate Central and state security forces in the state which goes to polls on February 12, 17 and 22.
