PUNE, Sept 30: Code of conduct for the by-election from ward number 31 (Central Institute of Road Transport) of the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation comes into effect from October 1.The byelection is to be held on November 29. The seat was lying vacant since March 20 after the murder of corporator Anil Hegde on Telco Road.According to the election department, the code will be applicable only for the ward. Official cars of elected office-bearers will not be taken away.However, use of official cars to visit the ward for campaigns has been disallowed. The corporation has been restrained from undertaking any civic development work in the ward. The voters' list will not be updated. All voters whose names figure in the list until October 1, 1998 will be eligible to vote. Nominations will be accepted on November 6, scrutiny will be done the next day, the last date for withdrawn is November 13. The ward has been reserved for scheduled caste candidates.
