Police squads went around Shimla town during the day, checking ISBT and the railway station, and some crowded areas.

The checking was also intensified at the state’s entry points like Parwanoo, Paonta and Kangra district. DGP GS Gill said these measures will remain in place, and police will keep a vigil at sensitive public spots, religious places, bus stations and hotels.

For Kolkata, the IMD has forecast mostly cloudy skies with light to moderate rain or thundershowers on most days through Panchami.
