
Kidnapped boy rescued
A woman, Ruby, allegedly kidnapped a three-year-old boy in Srinivaspuri area of south Delhi intending to sacrifice him to please the gods. Both Ruby and her husband lived near the boy8217;s home. They did not have any children. Ruby was apprehended by the police and Tabish was rescued. On interrogation, she revealed her mother Naseem Bano, had advised her to abduct a male child and sacrifice him. This would help her give birth to a male child. The Srinivaspuri police have regsitered a case against Ruby, her husband Yunus and her mother Naseem Bano.
Woman set afire
A 22-year-old woman sustained 70 per cent injuries when her in-laws reportedly poured kerosene all over her body and set her aflame in their Sangam Vihar home on Wednesday evening. Manisha had married three years ago. In her statement to the SDM, she has alleged that her in-laws wanted to kill her. The Sangam Vihar police have registered a case of attempt to murder.
Two drown
An 18-year-old boy, who used to repair telephones, drowned in the Pavitra Sarovar of the Bangla Sahib Gurudwara while taking a bath early in the morning. The boy, Kulwinder Singh, had gone to take a bath when he slipped and drowned. This was after he had his early morning darshan. In a separate incident, a nine-year-old girl drowned in a pond near the Rangpuri crossing in south-west Delhi. Pulbir Kaur was taking a bath in the pond when she slipped. Her body was fished out late Thursday evening.
Two suspects held
The police have held two suspects reportedly involved in bank robberies. Amir Khan was picked up from Shanti van in the Kotwali police station area and Jagdev from Roshanara Park. Khan is allegedly involved in 27 cases of robbery, dacoity, murder and rape.
