22-year-old burnt alive for a scooter
A 22-year-old woman was burnt alive allegedly by her husband when she failed to meet his demand of a scooter for dowry in Shahpur village under sector 39 police station, Noida. Sunita8217;s brother, Ratan Singh, has alleged that Babloo, the husband of the deceased and the main suspect who is currently absconding, had been torturing her and on may 5, he set her afire. On hearing her screams, the neighbours rushed to her rescue. She was hospitalised with 90 per cent burns. Sunita died last night. According to the police, Sunita of Laxmi Nagar area, was married to Babloo of village Shahpur under sector 39 police station area around a year ago.

ISBT paralysed after bomb hoax
A hoax call about a bomb at the busy Inter-State Bus Terminus ISBT in North Delhi kept the police on their toes today.A large number of policemen, bomb disposal squads and sniffer dogs reached the Maharana Pratap ISBT minutes after an anonymous caller told the police control room that a bomb had been placed at the terminus. The control room received the call 3.45 p.m.

The police searched the area for over two hours, forcing bus services to and from ISBT to come to a halt. Around 6 p.m., the police gave the all clear sign.

The police later traced the hoax call to a telephone booth on platform number four at of the New Delhi Railway Station.

Parents8217; protest
Parents along with their children held a massive demonstration in the Vidhan Sabha premises here this morning. They were protesting against the 8220;silence8221; of the Delhi government against the fee hike in violation of decision of the High Court and the non-compliance of its directions by public schools and the state government.

Parents led by Vijender Kumar, president Delhi Abhibhavak Mahasangh DAM, gathered at IP College and later marched towards Vidhan Sabha, shouting slogans all the while. The protesting parents also blocked the road for several hours and later gate-crashed into Vidhan Sabha and shouted slogans near the speaker8217;s porch. Later the Civil Lines Police arrested 800 parents including women and children. However, they were later released.
