
NEW DELHI, April 27: With the arrest of two persons, the south-west district police claims to have averted a robbery bid at a government liquor vend at Mitrown village in Najafgarh The police say while conducting special checks at the Main Dhansa road in the area on April 24, the police stopped a Maruti car no HR-26 F 2872.
The driver reportedly tried to speed away, but was overpowered after a small chase. The police reportedly managed to nab two of the car occupants while another one managed to escape. The two nabbed were identified as Gurdayal Singh and Parveen and the police also recovered two country-made 315 bore pistol, four cartridges and several fake number-plates from their possession.
The car in which they were travelling was also found to be stolen from the Punjabi Bagh area and upon interrogating, the two revealed that they were planning to loot the liquor shop. A team was dispatched to arrest the third accomplice.
