
Vadodara rural police, in a surprise check in Rajpipla-Dabhoi, arrested three people with government electrical equipment including a transformer worth Rs 61,000, from Sinor town. According to Inspector A V Katkar of Bodeli police, who is handling the investigations of the case, there were several cases of the state electricity board, Madhya Gujarat Vij Company Limited MGVCL. The accused: Paresh Patil, Mohammed Sohail Sheikh and Zahid Khan, belonging to Hansa Market locality of Ankleshwar, were arrested with a hacksaw, wires and a transformer, which they were carrying on a Tata Sumo GJ16-U-3639. 8220;They did not expect checking. When the transformer was found, one of them started running, but we caught him too,8221; said Katkar. The police conducted the raid when they were on night patrol. Katkar added that there were several old cases of theft of transformers, electric poles and other government property. 8220;The accused would be produced in a Vadodara district court tomorrow. We suspect that more people might be involved in this trade in Ankleshwar,8221; said Katkar.
