Poisonous gas affects 40

AHMEDNAGAR, May 21: About 40 persons were affected due to poisonous gas emitted out from a waste-disposal pit of a chemical factory at Kanhegaon Vari village under Kopargaon taluka. Six of the victims have been shifted to a Srirampur hospital.

The incident was caused by improper release of spent wash in the waste water pit, it was stated. The company officials took immediate steps to make available necessary medical aid to the affected.
