PMPML dismisses 22 employees

Taking serious view of absenteeism of its drivers, the Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited PMPML administration has dismissed 22 employees, including 14 drivers and 7 conductors, from ten depots. Some of the dismissed staff had remained absent since January. According to a PMPML press release, 8220;the PMPML plies buses to make commuting comfortable for citizens. In order to run the show, regular recruitments are done. However, since the number of staff remaining absent from the service is quite large, it is becoming difficult to provide smooth service to commuters. Despite repeated warnings, some of the staff members continue to remain absent. Therefore, the PMPML is compelled to take this step.8221; A PMPML official said, 8220;We will continue to take such stern action against the erring staff in the future also.
