Nepal8217;s Prime Minister, Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda, has dissolved the Planning Commission even before it formally took over.

A senior Maoist leader is believed to have warned Prachanda that he could be equated with corrupt Prime Minister8217;s of the past if he did not dissolve the commission, the formation of which was announced three days ago.

Apparently, deputy chairman of the commission, Pitamber Sharma, was not consulted by Prachanda before nominating the members. Sharma told the PM that he would not be able to work with the members picked by him. He also stopped going to office after Prachanda announced the commission. A source told The Indian Express that Prachanda has assured Sharma of a fresh selection.
