CHANDIGARH, Feb 12: Office bearers of two different students8217; bodies and elected presidents of various college students bodies have demanded postponement of the annual examinations of the undergraduate classes of the Panjab University scheduled for the first-week of April this year.

A meeting presided over by Lakhjeet Singh, president of the Punjab University Students Union PUSU, was held today at the Punjab University to discuss non-completion of syllabi. The students8217; leaders stated that owing to the teachers8217;strike which lasted 28 days, about 35 per cent syllabus remained to be completed yet. The meeting was attended by Nitin Verma president GC 46, Srupinder Singh DAVC Sector 10, Ajay Pal Singh SGGS 26 and Amrit Pal Singh GCM Sector 11.

Later, the students submitted a memorandum seeking postponement of the examinations by 15 days and withdrawal of the recent fee hikes, a press release said.Meanwhile, in separate press release it was stated that Akhil Goel, general secretary, Punjab University Campus Students8217; Council, submitted a memorandum demanding postponement of the examinations to April 20, threatening an agitation.
