CHANDIGARH, May 17:The Block Congress Committee has demanded basic amenities like water, electricity and sewerage for the houses constructed outside the lal dora in ward numbers 19 and 20 which are within the municipal limit of the Union Territory
.Stating this, councillor Raj Kumar Goel added that the drinking water supply at Manimajra particularly in the Old Abadi Area, Pipliwala town, Gobindpura, Mauli Jagran colony and Gawala Colony needed immediate attention. He also demanded a special drive of sanitation so that epidemics could be averted.
Goel said that the demands were raised at a meeting attended by the office-bearers and senior leaders of Congress hailing from Manimajra.
