
Colonial power opposing tide of history
l Dawn:8230;the sole superpower has been less than even-handed in addressing the latest situation in Kashmir, a fact that would only embolden the warmongers in India to press again the agenda advocated by them since mid-1980s.
It would be instructive to remember that this agenda once included pre-emptive strikes against Pakistani nuclear installations8230;Colonial powers have always used the threat of war to confuse the central issue of liberation.
As a responsible state, Pakistan should make its best efforts to ensure that this latest colonial power, swimming against the tide of history, does not succeed in doing so. Peace in South Asia is an objective worth fighting for.

l Nation : Foreign Minister Sartaj Aziz said in an interview to CNN: Pakistan had demonstrated its nuclear capacity and responded very positively in talks with the USA not to export nuclear technology, to exercise restraint in terms ofdeployment and have with India a mutually sort of restrictive regime concerning that no accident should take place and also agreed with them that there should be no nuclear arms race.
