
CHANDIGARH Dec 17: The 7th All India Pensioners Day was celebrated by the Co-ordination Committee of the Central Government Pensioners Associations, Chandigarh, at the Government Museum amp; Art Gallery here.
Satya Pal Jain, MP, was the chief guest at the function. Pensioners from the states of Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jamp;K and Chandigarh participated in the function and unanimously adopted resolutions allowing medical benefits.The resolutions passed concern the opening up of a dispensary under Central Government Health Scheme CGHS. The other subjects are the increase in the fixed medical allowance from Rs 100 to Rs 250 per month, issuing of the instructions of pay commission to reimburse the expenditure on indoor treatment in the hospitals. Release of the commuted portion of pension after 12 years as recommended by the Pay Commission, removal of disparity between pre-1996 and post-1996 pensioners are some of the other subjects taken in the resolutions.
