Wagah, April 14: Despite a freeze in bilateral relations, India and Pakistan today decided to continue running of the Samjhauta Express train between the two countries.

From April 20, Indian Railways would provide rolling stocks till Wagah in Pakistan, M N Chopra, executive director, coaching, Railway Board, told reporters here.

These decisions were taken at a meeting of Indian and Pakistani railway officials at the border check-post here. Chopra said other pending issues would be discussed at another meeting on April 26.

Of late, the running of the Samjhauta Express has come into focus with Pakistani authorities threatening to discontinue it alleging the Indian Railway was not fulfiling the conditions of the pact for rolling stocks which India denies.

The Indian train, known as Samjhauta Express one, runs from Amritsar to Attari, while the Pakistani train, called Samjhauta Express two, runs from Lahore to Attari.

Passengers get down at Attari for being transferred to their respective trains.
