CHANDIGARH, May 29: The Punjab Civil Service (Executive) Officers’ Association has expressed resentment against the policy of postings and transfers of the PCS officers.
The executive committee of the association at a meeting here yesterday called upon the state government to adopt a proper policy about the posting of Punjab Civil Service officers.
Association general secretary V. K. Bhalla today pointed out that the state government had not posted any Punjab Civil Service officer to the post of the divisional manager, Punjab Roadways, Chandigarh.
He alleged this had been done to accommodate some departmental officer against the post which is otherwise meant for the Punjab Civil Service officers. Similarly, the government had reduced the number of Punjab Civil Service officers in the excise and taxation department.
Bhalla said the state government had not so far taken any action on the proposals earlier submitted by the association.
He said the state government had not sent the required number of Indian Administrative Service officers on deputation to the centre and rather taken some Indian Administrative Service officers on deputation from other states.
He said this had led to the posts meant for the Punjab Civil Service officers being given to the Indian Administrative Service cadre officers.
