If a Pakistan player commits indiscipline and shows lack of commitment in domestic cricket, he may miss out on a PCB contract and a place in the national side.
8220;I don8217;t care how influential or important a player is to the team if he does not adhere to discipline and the team8217;s code of conduct. He will not be selected again,8221; Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Nasim Ashraf said.
8220;We will see which player has his focus on domestic cricket and how much time it gives to it when not required for national duty. We are also aiming to penalise players who don8217;t play domestic cricket despite being available for it,8221; Ashraf added.
Pointing out some problems surfacing during the recent series in India, he said 8220;clearly players need to be more focussed and committed and disciplined. Enough has happened in the past and now we don8217;t intend to compromise on discipline.8221;
Referring to paceman Shoaib Akhtar8217;s plans to act in an Indian film, Ashraf said 8220;If any player wants to do Bollywood movies he can do it, but then we have to see how committed he is to Pakistan cricket as well.8221;
Captain Shoaib Malik and Manager Talat Ali had reportedly expressed dissatisfaction at Akhtar8217;s attitude and commitment last week.
8220;The players indulged in activities, which were not good for the image of the team and country. There is no doubt about that and we are going to talk to them about it one final time,8221; Ashraf said.
