PBI varsity old students8217; meet tomorrow

PATIALA, Oct 28: The Punjab School of Management Studies, Punjabi University, Patiala, will organise an old students meet 8212; Alumni 8217;99 8212; on the university campus on October 30. Dr Jasbir Singh Ahluwalia, Vice-Chancellor, would preside over the meet. Sessions on an industry- academic interface, feedback from old students and adoption of a constitution for the alumni would be the highlights of the occasion.

6,614 given polio vaccine in Samana
Patiala: Health teams in Samana immunised 6,614 children during the last three days of the first round of the Pulse Polio programme. As many as 17 health teams were constituted and 16 camps were set up at different places of the city. Team members also made house-to-house visits to administer the vaccine.

Eminent lawyer hails Mann win
Roopnagar: The victory of Simranjeet Singh Mann from Sangrur Lok Sabha seat will mark the end of conventional Akali Dal leadership. Stating this in a press release, eminent human rights lawyer Sarabjit Singh said the disillusioned Sikhs will now rally around Mann, whose faction of the Akali Dal has emerged as an answer to the conventional leadership of Badal and Tohras.
