Patiala SAD unit supports Tohra

PATIALA, MAY 16: The Shiromani Akali Dal Urban Jatha, Patiala, today reposed full faith in the leadership of Gurcharan Singh Tohra, Rajya Sabha member and former president of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee SGPC, and criticised the working of Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal.

A resolution to this effect was passed during an urgent meeting of the Jatha. Sardara Singh Kohli, president of the Jatha, condemned Badal8217;s action against Tohra and termed it 8220;back-stabbing.8221; He said that Tohra had worked selflessly during his political career spread over 55 years and had strengthened the Khalsa Panth and the Akali Dal.

Kohli said some of the leaders of the Badal camp had tried to challenge the authority of the Akal Takht, and the Sikh Panth would not pardon them.
