Patiala DCC to hold dharna

PATIALA, Feb 22: The Patiala District Congress Committee Urban has decided to organise a dharna outside the office of Patiala Municipal Corporation here, tomorrow, to highlight the poor civic amenities in the city.

Announcing this here today, DCC Urban president Ved Parkash Gupta and District Youth Congress president Sanjiv Sharma said that workers of the District Youth Congress, Mahila Congress and Sewa Dal would also participate in the dharna.

They said that the aim of dharna was to focus government attention on the issue of privatisation of octroi system and enhancement of octroi rates, besides the allocation of alternative sites to people having rehris in the city. They said that the corporation authorities8217; move to enhance licence fee for approval of building plans was causing harassment to the people.
