The question of picking or dropping Parthiv Patel for the third Test at Nagpur was one of the major topics that came up for discussion at the selection committee meeting on Monday at Chepauk at the end of the second Test.

Even though there was difference of opinion among the selectors, Ganguly8217;s faith in Parthiv saved the day for the youngster.

8216;8216;Yes, he Parthiv had a poor game. It is unfair to keep him out, for I have faith in his abilities. Moreover, both our spinners felt that he should be given another chance. I have seen him keep better before,8217;8217; said Ganguly. On the contrary, Parthiv was honest enough to admit that he did not keep well at Chennai and vowed to bounce back and repose the faith instilled in him by his skipper.

8216;8216;Yes I did not keep up to the expected level. My gathering and catching was not good. But I believe anybody can have a bad day and I am confident that I will bounce back,8217;8217; said Patel.

Parthiv8217;s main problem in the Chennai Test was gathering on the leg-side. He also muffed easy catches.

8216;8216;In a day or two from now I will start working on my flaws. I know that it is important to get back into shape in the crucial Test at Nagpur,8217;8217; said a confident Parthiv.
