PUNE, May 15: Ten officers of the 77th Basic Engineering course and 36 officers of the 10th Naval Engineering Course passed out of the portals of the Naval College of Engineering at INS Shivaji, Lonavla, today after the successful completion of B. Tech degree course in mechanical and electrical streams.
A smartly turned out passing out parade was reviewed by Vice Admiral A S R Krishnan, AVSM, VSM, chief of material, and witnessed by over 200 officers and parents.
Admiral Krishnan delivered the valedictory address in which he emphasised that training is a continuous process and constant upgradation of one’s technical knowledge will alone ensure keeping abreast of the galloping pace of technology. He urged young officers to constantly strive towards professional excellence and yet maintain the highest standards of moral courage, integrity and responsibility.
S Lt S Maitra was adjudged the best all-round officer of the BEC and S Lt Vishnu Mohindra was awarded the `Sword of honour’ for being adjudged the best all-round officer of the Naval Engineering course.
