NEW DELHI, December 25: The Christmas spirit completely bypassed the BJP this time round. The entire party machinery was too busy with the PM's 75th birthday bash to notice anything else. While the 16 district units opted to do their own thing on the occasion, the highlight of the day was clearly the special `havan' organised by the Mahila Morcha at the party headquarters to pray for Vajpayee's long life.Party activists distributed woollies, blankets and fruits in schools, orphanages, hospitals and jhuggi clusters in their areas. Many of them later hopped over to greet Vajpayee at his residence and ended their day by attending the `havan'. Omvati, a party-worker from east Delhi, said: ``I distributed gloves in New Shahadara, then went for the district office function. From there I have come here for the havan.''The two-hour long `havan', which was attended largely by women activists of the party also saw brief appearances by Union Minister M.L. Khurana, former Delhi Health Minister Dr Harshvardhan and president of the Delhi unit, Mange Ram Garg. Chandni Chowk MP Vijay Goel organised a four-religion prayer meet in his constituency. He also organised a `sadbhavana' march from Amar Jyoti to Vijay Chowk and a flower show in Chandni Chowk.
