
PUNE, Dec 2: A special meeting of standing committee of the Pune Municipal Corporation yesterday sanctioned a major reallocation of budgetary provisions, paving the way for construction and asphaltation of roads and six parking lots in the city.
Municipal Commissioner Ratnakar Gaikwad has given priority to construction of concrete roads and creating new parking spaces in the city. The administration would be now spending about Rs 65 lakh for six parking lots at Revenue Colony on Jungli Maharaj Road, along river bank from Dengle bnidge to Shivai bridge, Sambhaji garden, along the river bank near Alka talkies, near old Bopodi octroi post and near Phugewadi octroi post. An amount of Rs 20 lakh has been sanctioned for parking lot connecting Dengle bridge and Shivaji bridge, along the river bank. This parking space will be made specifically for private tourist buses.
