CHANDIGARH, Dec 24: The Chandigarh Administration has constituted a common committee on compassionate appointments under the chairmanship of Managing Director, Chandigarh Tourism and Development Corporation, Satish Chandra.

According to an official spokesman, the committee will consider the applications for appointment on compassionate grounds in the Union Territory of Chandigarh. The other members of the Committee are UT Joint Secretary Finance Prithi Chand and UT Deputy Secretary Personnel, Sanjiv Kumar. Regional Employment Officer, A.N. Bansal, will act as the committee coordinator.

The committee will meet during the second week of every month to consider the applications received during the previous months. All the UT departments would also send their applications with required documents to the coordinator of the committee.

In departments where the ceiling of five per cent has been reached and where no suitable post is available, the REO will include such cases in the pool for sponsoring them to other departments.
