Lahore, Dec 11: Pakistan with a score of 184 for five had a slight edge over Zimbabwe when stumps were called today on the second day of the second cricket Test.

The home team, trailing 0-1 in the three-match series, dismissed the tourists for 183 on the first day.

Yousaf Youhanna was batting on 30 while captain Moin Khan was unbeaten on 18 when bad light brought play to an early end.

Earlier, opener Saeed Anwar 75 cracked his 17th Test half-century and was involved in two productive partnerships. Anwar put on 69 runs for the opening wicket with debutante Mohammad Naveed and then made a run-a-minute 52 for the second wicket with Ijaz Ahmed.

Naveed, 24, negotiated the four-pronged Zimbabwean pace attack for two hours with Anwar before Heath Streak got the breakthrough.

The Zimbabwean seamer knocked back Naveed8217;s stumps as the right-hander tried to play an on-drive and missed the line of the ball. But Anwar completed his half century before lunch as Pakistan were solidly placed at 111 for one at lunch.

However, the Zimbabweans hit back after lunch taking four wickets for just 26 runs. With Pakistan cruising along well at 121 for one, Neil Johnson found the inside edge of Anwar8217;s bat and wicketkeeper Andy Flower took a smart catch to his right. Anwar made 75 with the help of 11 fours and faced 114 balls during his three hours at the crease.

Ahmed struggled for runs before he played a reckless pull off Johnson and holed out to Adam Huckle at mid-on.

Veteran Salim Malik was brilliantly run out by Streak with a direct throw from covers. He had scored just two off 21 balls.

Hasan Raza offered an easy bat and pad catch to Gavin Rennie after scoring just three.
