Pakistan8217;s new foreign minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi is likely to visit India for the first time later this month, seeking a 8220;result-oriented8221; progress in the peace process by moving beyond the confidence-building measures to 8220;dispute resolution8221;.

Islamabad has proposed June 27-29 as the dates for Qureshi8217;s first visit to India, diplomatic sources said. During the proposed three-day visit, Qureshi will hold talks with his Indian counterpart Pranab Mukherjee, at whose invitation he will be travelling to India.

Mukherjee and Qureshi met for the first time in Islamabad last month when they resumed the bilateral composite dialogue process that had been stalled for six months following political turmoil in Pakistan.

The Pakistani side was awaiting confirmation from India for the proposed dates for the visit, diplomatic sources were quoted as saying by The News daily.
