
Pakistani cricketers are set to pay dearly for their World Cup flop show after PCB today said that it would review the players8217; contracts and make them performance based.
A board official said that the national team would be revamped following the pathetic display in the World Cup, where they were knocked out in the first round after losses to hosts West Indies and minnows Ireland.
The nightmare didn8217;t end there and the team was left shaken when their coach Bob Woolmer was murdered in his hotel room by suspected betting mafia.
8220;We are also going to have a look at the central contracts that we have awarded to 20 players and make them more performance-based so that players know they have to perform to get paid well,8221; the official said.
He said discussions would be held on the appointment of a new captain after the stepping down of Inzamam-ul Haq.
8220;These are critical decisions and we have to be very sure while taking them. We have to ensure that we can now bring about positive changes in Pakistan cricket,8221; the official said.
