Painting contest draws good response

The contest was divided into three categories: Category A (Class I-IV), Category B (Class V-VIII) and Category C (Class IX -XII). While the topic for Category A was any ride from Funcity Amusement Park, the topic for Category B was Nerolac Goodie in action and for Category C was the 300th year of Khalsa.

Following are the results of the painting competition in order of merit:
Category A: Prabhdeep Kaur Gill of Gem Public School, Mohali, Harpreet Kaur of DAV Public School, Mohali, and Ramandeep Singh, of Gem Public School.
Category B: Richa Saini of DAV Public School, Mohali, Amandeep Kaur Garcha of Gem Public School, Mohali, and Priya Saini of Tender Heart School, Sector 33.
Category C: Sonia Sahni of GMM School, Sector 16, Gurpreet Kaur of Army Public School, Dagshai, and Vikram Singh Bhandari of DAV Sr Sec School, Sector 8.

A total of 10 consolation prizes were given for each category.

Besides this, Gem Public School, Mohali, and Moti Ram Arya Senior Secondary School, Sector 27 received mementos for sending maximum number of entries in the contest. While the former had a total of 620 entries, the latter had 540 entries. In addition to this, 12 schools received mementos for sending 100 and more than 100 participants.
