Meals are game

The Bowling Co gets going again! They never seem to run out of innovative ideas to make the place more interesting and inviting to people. The latest addition is Silly-Point, The Sports Bistro. To begin with, they have happy hours from 6.00 pm to 8.00 pm, when you get a 20 per cent discount on all food and beverages. Further, they promise a scrumptious spread, with the choicest salads and sandwiches, exotic Burmese curries and eminently palatable pastas. You pick from the Salad-Sandwich Bar; as much as you can eat for just Rs 150 (inclusive of all taxes). You have a spread of 17 vegetarian and non-vegetarian salads, 10 kinds of sandwiches plus an array of cocktails and mocktails to go with your meals.

If you still have time, you can always play a game of pool, go bowling or sit around and unwind with the selection of sports on the large video wall they have.

Cinema, cinema

The Jindal Arts Creative Interactive Centre (JACIC) has put together a four-day film appreciation programme in association with the FTII, Pune — from August 11-14 at the NCPA. Professor Suresh Chabria, the course co-ordinator, will elucidate ways of looking at questions of cinema, and images and meanings in general. The nature of the medium will be introduced through analysis of the structure and sequencing of representative text films. Each day’s programme will conclude with a screening of a significantfeature-length film, followed by discussion and analysis.

The Disney show
