
New Delhi, May 15: Oriental Bank downed Central Industrial Security Force CISF 2-0 in a Group C tie of the Delhi Soccer Association Annual Institutional League Championships at the Ambedkar Stadium here today. Both sides were locked goalless till half-time.
Finally, Oriental Bank midfielder Vivek Sharma stunned CISF goalkeeper Gautam Hazara in the 44th minute with a powerful long ranger that landed in the far corner of the net. Three minutes later, Vivek struck again after receiving a measured pass from the left to complete the tally.
OBC collected nine points from three matches while CISF have three points from two matches and is awaiting the decision of an abandoned match against Delhi Administration.
Earlier, Employees State Insurance Corporation ESIC prevailed over Urban Development Ministry 2-1 in a group B encounter, after leading 2-0 at half-time. Striker Hukum Bahadur Thapa put ESIC ahead in the 11th minute before mid-fielder Shyam Thapa made it 2-0. Urban Development8217;s Laxman reduced the margin in the 47th minute. ESIC and UDM have four points each from three matches.
