NEW DELHI, November 1: A state-of-the-art organ imaging centre for treating patients suffering from complex ailments like brain tumour, epilepsy and cancers of different organs has been set up at the Research and Referral (R & R) Hospital of the Army in the Capital.Said to be the first of its kind, the centre is equipped with a spiral CT scanner, colour doppler ultrasound, digital subtraction angiography, mammography and a spect-imaging system.Inaugurating the hospital in the Capital yesterday, Lieutenant General S.C. Verma, Director General Medical Services of the Army, said similar facilities would be extended to the command hospitals at Calcutta, Pune, Lucknow and Srinagar for treating Defence personnel and their dependants.
