PUNE, MARCH 11: The decision of the standing committee of Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation PCMC to allot work of the effluent treatment plant at Sangvi to one company without inviting tenders has drawn flak from the opposition.

Bharatiya Janata Party corporator Amrut Parhad today submitted a memorandum to Municipal Commissioner Ganesh Thakur charging that the standing committee has violated the rules of the Bombay Municipal Provincial Corporations Act by alloting the work costing Rs 5.25 crore to Thermax Limited. Tenders should have been invited for such a major civic work, Parhad sai.
