MUMBAI, DECEMBER 30: Former deputy chief minister Gopinath Munde on Thursday strongly criticised the Democratic Front Government’s decision to scrap the scheme to provide essential commodities through public distribution system at a fixed price.
“If the Government fails to revoke the decision, then BJP will take note of the sentiments of the people and will not hesitate to launch an agitation,” Munde said in a statement.
He pointed out that though there was hike in the prices of essential commodities, the Sena-BJP government never passed on the burden to the consumers. Instead, it made budgetary provision for the purpose.
